The Kingdom of God has no room for people who care only for themselves. The allegory has been told about a distinguishing feature of those who will occupy heaven and hell. None of the people in either place will have elbows, which makes it incredibly hard for them to feed themselves. If they can’t bend their arms, how can they put food into their mouths?

The difference between nourishment and starvation is determined by the attitude each one has toward those around them. In heaven, everyone feeds each other, which turns each meal into a glorious time of sharing and fellowship, whereas in hell, there is great bewilderment and stress because no one can figure out how to get the food from their plates to their mouths. For them, it is a debilitating mystery.

“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets” (Matthew 7:12, NLT).

If you want to be fed, feed those around you.
