2 Chronicles 20:12 (Part 3 of 4)

The second step to winning our battles against the devil is to admit our weaknesses to God.

2 Chronicles 20:12 “Our God, will you not judge them?

For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. (Jehoshaphat admitted) We do not know what to do...” We may have learned a few things over the years through experience, but sometimes we forget that Satan is the best chess player ever, you make your move but he will make a much better move- “Like a good chess player, Satan is always trying to manoeuvre you into a position where you can save your castle only by losing your bishop.” C.S Lewis Isaiah 41:10,13 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you… God heard the prayer of Jehoshaphat! 2 Chron. 20:15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s! Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell (reveal) you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Even though Satan is the best chess player, there is no one that can win against the Almighty God Isaiah 46:10 “Only I can tell you the future before it even happens.

Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish. “ (NLT) In 2 Chron. 20:16 God makes known to Jehoshaphat that very moment the plans that Satan has for tomorrow. Christ has said, "Without me ye can do nothing." The resolutions you may make in your own finite strength will be only as ropes of sand. But if you pray in sincerity, surrendering yourself, soul, body, and spirit, unto God, you put on the whole armour of God and open the soul to the righteousness of Christ; and this alone--Christ's imputed righteousness--makes you able to stand against the wiles of the devil. The work of every soul is to resist the enemy in the power and might of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the promise is that the devil shall flee from us. Sons and Daughters of God - Page 346 This is why Paul says in 2 Corinthians 12:9 “I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest upon me…for God’s power is made perfect only when I admit my weakness.” There's only one kind of person that God doesn't help, and that's a person who doesn't think he needs help, who depends on himself.

As we face this week, let us affirm our dependence upon God’s strength and wisdom by saying like Jehoshaphat: “Lord, I don't know what to do, without You I will make the wrong choice - Without Your help I will fail - - but I know I can do all things through You who gives me strength, who prepares the way before me!"

God bless.
